  • Discuss with a partner, then write to describe the character of Candy, the swamper, and give one piece of evidence (what he says, does, or what someone says about him) to support what you say. (teacher will call on a few students to share)
OMAM: Chapter Three Vocabulary and character analysis
    1. Complete the CH 3 Vocabulary Part 1 and 2 (handout)
    2. CH 3 Quote Analysis:
      1. Read the first few pages of CH 3
      2. On binder paper, copy the page number and paragraph of a significant quote or line exactly as it appears in the text.
      3. Elaborate to explain what is important about the quote, why you chose it, what it shows about the story (plot) or specific character (characterization).
